UP Ten Feet in 24 Hours
Hey there! Once again, the rain from the last few days is bumping up the river rather quickly. This time, we received a 10' rise in the last 24 hours. Not that it makes for a problem. Nature does what it wants. Also means we could get another indoor swimming pool if it gets to 51 feet again. Since both sump pumps gave out during the February flood, there is nothing we can keep ahead of the water. There is nothing in the basement besides a busted furnace and water heater, but it is what it is.

This time, there is nothing to move.
I would like to get things going and just in case, have anything of value moved out of the basement and up to the first floor, but there isn't anything down there now. There is a tool cabinet, but that was so heavy it never moved from the last 'Incursion of water into the structure', which I believe it was called by the National Flood Insurance Program [NFIP]. I called it an indoor swimming pool, but no one really thought it was funny.
The 'Muddy Ohio' is rising again!
Once again, we are looking at some high water in the village. Not quite as high as in February of this year, but high enough to take the necessary preliminary precautions.
Remember, last time when it kept raining and raining, the evacuation time quickly changed from 3+ days to get out, which turned into 3+ hours for some of us.
